Ajrakh is a traditional textile printing technique from Kutch, Gujarat, India. It involves intricate block printing using natural dyes on cotton or silk fabric. The process includes resist dyeing to create vibrant colors and intricate patterns. Ajrakh fabrics have earned recognition for their rich cultural significance and sustainable appeal, and people wear them during special occasions. The dyeing process of Ajrakh is quite unique, as it employs a laborious technique known as resist dyeing. The fabric is repeatedly dyed and printed with different layers of dyes, often in multiple colors. Specific parts of the fabric are treated with a resist paste, which prevents the dye from penetrating certain areas, creating beautiful, intricate patterns and colors.

Wash Care Instruction:

Hand Wash lightly with mild detergent. Do not soak overnight or for a longer period. Do not wash with other garments. Always dry in shade, and turn the cloth inside out. Dry clean is an ideal option. Avoid machine wash. Pro Tip – Add salt in water and soak the fabric for 30-60 mins before the final wash. Do not iron directly on the prints, turn the clothes inside out. Store in a cool dry place”
